What I can do for you
I'm a dog trainer based in Tetbury, and most of my work is 1-1, at your home or somewhere local to you across the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire. Below is what I offer, what each one involves, and what it costs. If you're not sure which one fits your dog, ring or WhatsApp me on 07711 229068 and we'll work it out.

Loose lead walking 1-1
If your dog drags you to every smell, tree, dog and bird on the walk, this is the session. It's around an hour, usually in a local park, and costs £100.
I pride myself on getting dogs walking on a loose lead within the first session. I don't do it with food. I tried that with my own dog years ago, following what every online forum told me, and all I made was a yo-yo dog that kept hitting the end of the lead. What works is the dog understanding where it should be and trusting you to lead the walk. You'll leave with homework, and the homework is what makes it stick.
A Dalmatian I saw in January 2025 greeted me with jumps and pulls. It was a huge change in one session, and her owner went home with homework and a follow-up booked for two weeks later.
Couldn't believe it, within 5 mins our cocker was walking beautifully on a slip lead - we were literally told she was a hopeless case after spending £££'s with previous trainers!

Behaviour assessment and training (two home visits)
For barking, reactivity to other dogs or people, jumping up, a dog that won't settle in the house, or anything else that's making life hard. It's two home visits of around 1.5 to 2 hours each, and costs £240 for both.
On the first visit I'll watch everything I can: house manners, boundaries, how the dog greets people, and the lead walk. There's a lot of talking and theory, and I'll give you exercises for each problem we find. The second visit checks your progress and tackles anything new. By the end you'll know whether your dog needs more behaviour work 1-1, group classes, or just for you to keep doing the homework.
Reactive dogs and behaviour problems are a big part of what I do. One 5-year-old Labrador couldn't walk near people, dogs or anything that moved, and I was the tenth person her owner had asked for help. After an hour together, I could go back into the house and have a cuddle with her without being barked at. There was no muzzle, no treats and no e-collar, just understanding.
Ashley I can not thank you enough for turning my reactive anxious unconfident pooch In to a really well rounded boy.

Puppy raising course (home visits)
Eight home visits, usually two weeks apart, for puppies starting between 8 and 16 weeks old. It costs £595.
We cover the basics, from toilet training to your first walk, socialisation and being left alone. Then there's the big one: raising a calm puppy. I'm a big believer in tethering and in letting puppies rest. If they're under 2, a crate or a pen helps them sleep, and a puppy that sleeps properly doesn't have a witching hour. Socialising doesn't mean letting your puppy play with every dog it meets. It means teaching it to stay calm in exciting places, so we go to cafés and the park. I also run horse-awareness sessions with an experienced rider and a steady pony, so young dogs learn to be polite around horses.
Bonnie started the course at 8 weeks old. At 7 months she was a well-balanced, kind-natured family dog.
What an incredible trainer! So Knowledgable and personable and helped train us to correct a few unwanted puppy behaviours, all in the first session!

Sunday School group class
Sunday School is my group class at the dog field at Ewen, near Cirencester, and it's £25 a session. It's for dogs that have already done an assessment with me, so everyone in the field knows the basics.
Training around other dogs is how you get a dog that behaves in the real world. We work on heelwork, recall, sit stays with distractions, and staying calm around chaos, usually with a cuppa. Sometimes we build our own pub in the field. The Christmas special raised over £400 for Pets as Therapy.

Gundog training
From a puppy's first retrieve to working tests, gundog training is the part of the job I love most. There's a page about gundog training with more detail, including my 10-week course at Lechlade K9 Centre.
Training packages
If you want ongoing help, I can put sessions together into a package. Recent ones have included a 5-day boot camp for loose lead walking. Get in touch and tell me about your dog.
